Since The Pantry's first store front in 2010 in Lower Freeborn Hall and since moving to the first floor of the Memorial Union the ASUCD The Pantry has been dedicated to addressing food insecurity among students and the Aggie Community. The revised storefront continues to build upon its proud tradition of providing free groceries and other basic necessities but also moves the service from being transactional model to more of a browsing and shopping experience. The pantry offers a variety of food items, including fresh produce, pantry staples, and non-perishable goods. It is staffed by volunteers, and its services are available to students with a valid UC Davis ID, ensuring that all students, regardless of financial situation, have access to food.
The Pantry aims to promote food justice, reduce stigma around food assistance, and create a supportive community for students in need. The organization also focuses on raising awareness about food insecurity on campus and advocating for systemic solutions to this issue.
No UC Davis student has to miss a meal or live without basic necessities. Visit The Pantry for free groceries, food items, and toiletries or place an online order 24/7.
